Permanent system, to be simply laid unto the waterprrofing system. No need to pierce or machanically fix the guardrail onto the structure.
Its simple cantilever principle provides sturdiness and stability.
Securigard® guardrails enter the application field of the standard BS EN ISO 14122-3 since they are designed to protect maintenance operators on flat roofs, which access is limited to authorised working personnel.
Stabilic free standing straight
Field of Application :
Permanent guardrail, specifically designed to protect workers against falls from roofs terraces, which are non-accessible to public but accessible for maintenance operations. We do not recommend free standing guardrail on new buildings. Free standing guardrails are generally installed when fixation by bolts is difficult or impossible.
Conditions of use :
The access to the flat roofs must be strictly forbidden to public, and only accessible by authorized working personnel.
• Roof pitch < 10°
• For new and renovated buildings
• For moderate traffic on the roof (1 person per week)
• Building structure must be compatible with the weight of the guardrail system (see technical data)
• In case upstand is <100mm high, install a toe board.
• We recommend adding a 3rd weight on each post and to space the post 20cm away form roof edge in case the traffic on roof is more than 1 person per week. On very flexible or irregular (flatness) roof surface, we recommend the use of a load distributor/spreader.
